How to host a Music Quiz
The best way to run a music quiz is to use an iPhone, iPod or Mac. Create a playlist in iTunes of your quiz songs, then use a speaker dock or similar so your party can hear the tunes.
If you don’t want to buy all the songs you can always try YouTube which lists most tracks, and set up a playlist there. Just watch out for the adverts. Give yourself an hour or so to do a bit of research, get the playlist right, and try it all out.
Split your group into teams, pairs or individuals, then hand out a pen and paper to each. Announce your quiz, and away you go.
Play each tune for up to 30 seconds. People should guess the Artist and Title for 2 points.
You can award bonus points for additional info such as:
- year of release
- year of charting
- lead singer or band member names
You can run a music quiz on the pub, at home with mates, at a sleepover or slumber party, or as part of a main party for birthday, Christmas or New Year. A must.
